We’re a father-and-son team, Magnus and Jay, who have experienced firsthand the devastating consequences of crypto theft, the frustration of uncooperative exchanges, and the systemic failures and corruption of regulators. Our mission is simple: to protect others from falling victim to scammers, and to empower individuals to navigate the crypto world with confidence and security.
Our Story
In February 2022, our lives were forever changed. A hacker infiltrated our Metamask wallet, nearly $150,000—years of hard-earned savings meant for Magnus’ retirement. The shock and despair were overwhelming, but we refused to let this loss define us. Instead, we embarked on a relentless journey to uncover the truth, recover what was stolen, and hold those responsible accountable. Using blockchain explorers, and later, more advanced forensic software, we tracked the stolen funds to the Huobi exchange.
Armed with evidence, we reached out to Huobi, confident that their know-your-customer (KYC) and anti-money laundering (AML) policies would lead to justice. But what followed was a 16-month ordeal of stonewalling, regulatory loopholes, and corporate negligence. Despite providing clear evidence and involving law enforcement, Huobi refused to cooperate, hiding behind lax regulations in Seychelles and misleading claims about their compliance.
Our battle didn’t stop there. We reached out to the Seychelles Financial Services Agency (FSA), only to be told by them that Huobi wasn’t licensed in the country, despite Huobi’s claims. The FSA admitted they had no jurisdiction over Huobi and no framework to regulate cryptocurrency exchanges, only to discover later that the FSA had actually lied to us. Huobi was in fact licensed in Seychelles. We found court transcripts from Seychelles whereby they referenced Huobi’s license number! Incidentally, Huobi didn’t show up for court and got a default judgment put against them. History was made as a result of this case, because it’s the first court case that they sent the guilty judgment to the wallet that had stolen the funds in the form of an NFT, and it was considered legal service.
Ours was a harsh lesson in the "wild west" nature of the crypto industry, where bad actors thrive, and victims are left without recourse. But we didn’t give up. Instead, we turned our pain into purpose. We launched a platform to unite victims of Huobi’s negligence and pursue justice through a class action lawsuit. Along the way, we’ve connected with others who have faced similar losses and have made it our mission to advocate for stronger regulations, greater transparency, and a safer crypto ecosystem for everyone.

No matter how big or influential the opponent, their actions will be documented and they will be named whenever possible. We believe that accountability is the cornerstone of trust, and we’re committed to shining a light on the darkest corners of this industry.
